What is Wings of Hope?
Wings of Hope, Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable purposes.
As an environmental and community preservation organization, Wings of Hope, Inc. donates butterflies for ceremonial release in tandem with the establishment, and/or restoration of permanent butterfly habitats as a way to begin the healing process and bring communities together after tragedy.

International Butterfly Breeders Association (IBBA) members and other breeders also work to donate butterflies for organizations and special events that are uplifting in times of tragedy, loss, and also celebrations of the human spirit!

Molly Bish was abducted on June 27, 2000. She was 16 years old. The search for Molly came to a painful end when her remains were found just five miles from her family's home.
Wings of Hope sponsored a Memorial Butterfly Release for Molly on August 2, 2003 in Warren, Massachusetts.

Shelton Butterfly Project
On November 20th, 2009 Viviana Rose Cavalli was killed in a car accident which also claimed the life of her boyfriend, and injured her best friend. The community in Shelton, which is a tight knit, and incredibly supportive community came together to support the families of the children involved in the crash.
Wings of Hope donated butterflies to a butterfly release to raise funds to support a Scholarship Fund established in memory of Viviana Rose Cavalli and others who lost their lives in drunk driving accidents. Several hundred more butterflies were sold to raise funds for the two scholarships.
